For the third straight year, five of L.A.’s top chefs will co-host a rotating series of collaborative dinners, titled “5 x 5.” The participating chefs will be Michael Cimarusti of Providence, Josiah Citrin of Mélisse, David LeFevre of Water Grill, Gino Angelini of Angelini Osteria and Neal Fraser of Grace. According to the press release, “These five chefs have come together to form the 5 x 5 Chefs Collaborative giving them the opportunity to unite and share their considerable talents to inspire one another, have some fun in the kitchen, and cook some amazing menus in the process.” A portion of the proceeds from each dinner will benefit the Southern California Chapter of Special Olympics. Each chef will contribute a course at each meal, joining a guest chef. 5 x 5 will be at Providence on April 28 with Alex chef Alex Stratta, Mélisse on May 17 with Gabriel Kreuther of The Modern, Grace on June 15 with Sean McClain of Spring, Water Grill on August 23 with Curtis Duffy of The Avenues and Angelini Osteria on September 21 with Paul Bartolotta of Ristorante Bartolotta. Call 323 460 4170 to make reservations for the first 5 x 5 dinner. Each 5 x 5 dinner costs $150 per person, $215 with wine pairings.
