Sandwich Los Angeles

Andrew's Cheese Shop makes the most of their main ingredient in sandwiches.

Andrew Steiner now offers sandwiches every day at Andrew’s Cheese Shop in Santa Monica. 23-year-old wunderkind Tommy Pollio developed the sandwich menu for his friend. Steiner and Pollio worked together at The Foundry on Melrose, where Steiner was opening GM and Pollio is currently sous chef. Pollio plans to move home to New Jersey in two weeks to open an Italian style sandwich shop. Part of his Los Angeles legacy will be the following $9 sandwiches:

Italian: Mortadella, Black Forest ham, salami, romaine lettuce, tomato, pepperoncini, farmhouse cheddar on hazelnut bread

Smoked Turkey: tomato, arugula, São Jorge cheese, tarragon mustard aioli on baguette

Smoked Salmon: roasted peppers, pesto, capers, red onion, Fromager des Clarines on baguette

Prosciutto: homemade scamorza, roasted red peppers, fresh basil on baguette

Prosciutto: sliced pear, honey mustard, shaved asparagus, St. Agur blue cheese on baguette

Veggie: marinated eggplant, zucchini, roasted asparagus, roasted peppers, scamorza on baguette

Portabello: zucchini, arugula, sheep’s milk Feta, roasted peppers on olive bread

Address: 728 Montana Avenue, Santa Monica, CA 90403
