At the Palomar hotel in Westwood, BLVD 16 changes their cocktail menu 4-6 times per year, depending on seasonality. This month, bartenders introduced cocktails that incorporate fresh vegetables. You’ll find the three following cocktails:

16 Karrot – lemon and ginger infused organic Square One Vodka, fresh carrot and orange juices
Blvd 16 Maria – 4 Coppas Organic Tequila and housemade bloody Mary mix
“Beet”nik – lemon and ginger infused organic Square One Vodka, fresh beet juice and soda

BLVD 16’s bartenders infuse the Organic Square One Vodka with lemon and ginger in-house. They also infuse vodka with tarragon and basil at the bar. Gin is treated to a vanilla infusion. Executive Chef Simon Dolinky supplies the bartenders with basil and mint from his garden.

Oooh the infused vodkas sound fantastic — always meant to try doing that myself. Maybe BLVD16 will be my inspiration :)

Healthy eating has really been good for my family. It’s very satisfying to grow and then prepare your own food.
