Fagan’s Biscuit Barn is operated by a family that has lived in the immediate region for nearly 200 years. In fact, the current crop of Fagans that operate the restaurant is the fourth generation that has operated a restaurant in the Peachtree Parkway area of Cumming. When a customer arrives at Fagan’s he is struck by the old-fashioned, Southern feel of the place, and at a biscuit barn, that is a good thing. The space is crowded, and there is usually a mix of families and younger people who have come to inhale excellent biscuits, superior fried chicken, and surprisingly good hand-patted burgers. There are also an assortment of homemade and regional desserts, including a wonderful peanut butter pie, and various fried pies (which come from a place in Ellijay, GA). All in all, Fagan’s is a delicious cafe, and in the sprawl that has encroached on the area, that is increasingly rare.
