On June 19, in an Eater Exclusive, associate editor Daniela Galarza reported Patina’s C+M Coffee and Milk Debuts at LACMA in July, complete with Intelligentsia coffee and a menu “collaboration between Patina’s founder, Joachim Splichal and Pastry Chef Josh Graves, Paul Sanguinetti and Kris Morningstar.”

Grub Street LA

On June 20, Grub Street LA editor Hadley Tomicki reported, Sam Choy Opening Pineapple Express Truck in July, complete with “friend and consulting chef, Jeff Mora,” Kalua pork served on King’s Hawaiian rolls, several kinds of poke, and firecracker rice with “magic mushrooms.”

On June 22, LA Times Food editor Russ Parsons shared, Why I Love Italy. His story about a dining adventure gone awry literally involves missing the boat and results in “ham satiny and salty” and “one of the best (and simplest) porcini dishes I’ve ever eaten.”

On June 20, LA Weekly staffer Garrett Snyder reviewed The Pikey: Hollywood’s Riff on the London Blues, praising the kale and pig’s ear salad and including commentary on the fish and chips and chicken.

On June 18, Squid Ink contributor Tien Nguyen reported, Cognoscenti Coffee Pops Up at the Normandie Hotel with Yeekai Lim behind the bar and beans from multiple roasters, including a “mystery coffee.”
