L.A. BEER BLAST A13

Craft Beer Orange County

The Bruery leans on barrel aging to produce many of their Belgian inspired beers.

Why should San Diego County have all the high-quality beer in Southern California? For years, that’s the question that Jeremy Raub and father Steve couldn’t shake. Two years ago, after “lamenting the fact that L.A. doesn’t have a great beer scene,” Jeremy and Dad decided to do something about it, outlining their vision for Eagle Rock Brewery. On April 13, Jeremy led a tour of the warehouse and outlined his expectations. Health Department willing, Eagle Rock Brewery could open by June. CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL STORY.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled beer blast, featuring more photos and links. The L.A. BEER BLAST is a weekly newsletter designed to let Food GPS readers know about what’s new at select L.A. bars and restaurants with great beer selections. Expect a new L.A. BEER BLAST every Thursday evening, in time for the weekend rush. SUBSCRIBE to Food GPS and you’ll receive the L.A. BEER BLAST by e-mail.

BLUE PALMS BREWHOUSE
6124 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, 323 464 2337

Tonight, owner Brian Lenzo is hosting a “Beer Wars” after-party. Expect 11 different taps devoted to San Diego’s Coronado Brewing Co. You’ll also find Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA on tap for one of the only times in Southern California history, since Sam Calagione’s esteemed Delaware brewery has no West Coast distribution. Tonight’s festivities will start tonight at around 8:30 PM. Lenzo promises “amazing beer, beer, beer, and great people.” Calagione will likely swing by after participating in the “Beer Wars” panel discussion.
