We also got Stone’s Aloha Plenty Porter in. And I found a couple of bottles of Juxtaposition. How is it that we’re open for 6 months and I’m already “finding” stuff?”

Lucky Baldwin’s eastern outpost has been draining their taps of Belgian beers in anticipation of Oktoberfest, which starts on October 3, featuring German breweries like Paulaner and Spaten, plus Hacker Pschorr and several different hefeweizens and marzens.

Here’s tonight’s update from David Stickel, who’s now overseeing the beer program at The Daily Pint’s sister establishment in the northwest Valley.

“We’ve just put together a beer dinner for October 22nd, 5 course meal paired with 9 beers. Boxty potatoes with smoked salmon mousse, mussels, cheese intermezzo, shepherd’s pie, New Zealand lamb ‘lollipops’ marinated with Black Sheep Riggwelter (ha!), and Irish chocolate sponge cake. $55 a seat or two for $100.

Tap list is finally shaping up as well. On right now we’ve got Damnation, Rubicon IPA, Weihenstephan Oktoberfest, Hop Head Red, Green Flash Trippel, Le Freak, Old Rasputin (nitro), plus the classics that are usually on: Franziskaner Dunkel, Old Speckled Hen (nitro), Young’s Double Chocolate (nitro), Lindeman’s Framboise, Green Flash West Coast IPA.

We’re also running an Oktoberfest special right now, filling 1L Weihenstephan steins for $20, keep the glass.”

“We just got A Little Sumpin’ from Lagunitas, one of their best limited releases ever. And soon, we’ll have the Punkin by Dogfish Head, their tasty fall seasonal.”
