I also have Smog City IPA, Russian River Supplication and Pliny the Elder, Grand Teton Bitch Creek ESB, Sierra Nevada Torpedo, Heretic Evil Cousin and El Segundo White Dog IPA.

Vendome Toluca Lake’s weekly Beer Tasting is from 2-5 pm on Saturday and 12-3 pm Sunday. Each week has a theme and this week it is Malty Goodness. The Line-up: Dieu Du Ciel Solstice d’Hiver (a sweet liquor-like barleywine), Widmer Brrr Seasonal Ale (an amber ale with candy sweetness), Troll Geisha 2008 Vintage (a 12% Italian barleywine), Leffe Brune (a traditional abbey dubbel), Pauwel Kwak (a rich, malty Belgian strong ale), Urthel Samaranth (a full-bodied 11% abv Quadrupel), Abbaye des Rocs Triple Imperiale (one of the highest ratebeer rated dark triples we carry at Vendome; a must try), Moylans Old Blarney Barley, Bison Brewing Reunion 2010 (a scotch ale fermented with a Trappist yeast strain), Mikkeller Big Worse Barley Wine, Great Divide Old Ruffian (normally hoppy fresh, with time this beer becomes a malt monster), Alesmith Wee Heavy (the benchmark domestic scotch ale as far as I am concerned), Barrel-aged Brrrbon 2011 (Widmer’s Brrr ale aged in bourbon barrels for four months), Heretic Shallow Grave (a porter with rich chocolate flavor) and North Coast Old Stock 2009 (Bourbon barrel-aged Old Stock weighing in at 13% abv)”

Other Beer-y Events

Los Angeles German restaurant and beer garden, Wirtshaus, is launching its series of German beer and food pairing dinners on Tuesday, January 31, 2012. The pre-fixe dinner/menu will be offered from 6 PM – 10 PM. The dinner, priced at $40.00 per person, includes three (3) courses paired with a flight of five (5) German beers. (Please Note: Tax and tip are not included in this price.) The January 31 beer pairing dinner will feature rabbit stew as an appetizer, followed by Pork Wellington with mashed parsnips and garlic/parsley spaetzle. Dessert will be a pretzel bread pudding. (Guests who opt out of the beer pairing dinner menu/special will be able to order off of the regular dinner menu.)

This Sunday is The Whole Foods El Segundo Craft Beer Fest! From Noon to 4pm. Smog City, El Segundo Brewing Company – home of Blue House Ales, Strand Brewing Co, among others will be pouring.
