Golden Road Brewing

Every Thursday at 4pm, The Pub at Golden Road will be tapping a small cask of limited edition specialty cask-conditioned beer. Quantity is very limited, so this week’s beer will only be available for the next few weeks on Thursday evenings ’til the cask runs dry.

The LAB

“Dr. Hops’ latest creation, the After Midnight Moo, will be tapped for the first time at the end of this week. The Moo is a milk stout, also known as a sweet stout. The Flaked Oats used in the mash add a silky smoothness while the milk sugar added to the boil provides a slight creamy sweetness, making the Moo surprisingly drinkable even for those who don’t think they care for dark beers.”

Ladyface Ale Companie

From Robyn Britton at Ladyface: “This week’s cask, “Beer Pancakes”, features Russian Lullaby Imperial Stout with maple syrup and vanilla bean. Joining the Ladyface ales on tap are Ballast Point Calico and Sculpin as well as Sierra Nevada Northern Hemisphere.

It’s Music Monday on the 20th as well as the monthly meeting of the Ladies at Ladyface. Newbies & beer geekesses alike are welcome for a discussion, and consumption, of beer and chocolate. Off campus, Ladyface will be at Beer Revolution up in the Bay area on the 18th for their Los Angeles Tap Takeover, and ColLAboration’s Winterfest on the 26th. Cheers!”

The beer list De La Senne Taras Boulba (a Belgian pale ale with pronounced hop character), Urthel Saisonniere (a flavorful blond ale with a thirst-quenching hop edge), De Ranke Pere Noel (a refreshingly dry, complex, and balanced Christmas ale), De Proef Collaboration Broederlijke (a slightly spicy saison fermented with brett to give complex, farmhouse-like character), Brasserie Dupont Monk’s Stout (a dry and roasty low alcohol Belgian stout), Brasserie Dupont Posca Rustica (a traditional ale brewed in the ancient Gallic style), Jessenhofke Tripel (an abbey tripel spiced with garlic…no vampires here!), Noel Des Geants (an unpasteurized, unfiltered Belgian strong ale), La Rulles Triple (an excellent, unadulterated example of the abbey tripel style), Witches Brew Golden Ale (a balanced, Belgian strong golden), Dupont Avec Les Bons Voeux (a saison for the holidays… a must try for the saison lover), La Rulles La Grande 10 (another well crafted Belgian strong golden), 2009 Gouden Carolus Cuvee Van De Keizer Rood (my personal favorite Belgian strong golden that gains complexity with age), De Dolle BosKeun (strong golden ale brewed with cane sugar and refermented with native honey…sounds sweet) and Struise/Stillwater Outblack (a Belgian strong ale crossed with a Black IPA… you decide if it works…)
