At last week’s Valerie Confections open house, Ludovic Lefebvre and wife Krissy were tightlipped about their plans to relaunch LudoBites. They admitted to locking down the space, but wouldn’t reveal their plans until November 3, after they could install a reservation system on the LudoBites website. Squid Ink editor Amy Scattergood just learned that LudoBites will pop up on December 2 at Royal/T in Culver City. You’ll have only 13 days to experience LudoBites before the holidays: December 2-4, December 9-10, December 13-17 and December 20-22.
At Valerie Confections, Ludo said he’s been playing with some dishes and was influenced by a recent two-week food bender in France. While he was at Bastide, he became known for experimenting with molecular gastronomy, but his voyage home increased his disinterest in that style of cooking. Now he prefers more straightforward cooking, with fewer ingredients. When asked what to expect at LudoBites Version 3.0, he wouldn’t comment on specific dishes, saying that if he listed dishes, they were bound to change by the time LudoBites returns.

Note: Royal/T is not accepting reservations for LudoBites, so don’t bother calling. Instead, refer to the official LudoBites reservation system.

Glad to see that Ludo is generating so much buzz. That bodes well should he ever decide to open a standing restaurant.
