Malo Expanding Downtown

Tacos Los Angeles

Ground beef and pickle tacos have become a signature Malo dish.

At last night’s Rosangel cocktail competition finals, Mitchell Frank discussed his plans to open a second branch of Malo downtown. The location: below Seven Grand in the former home of Clifton’s Silver Spoon Cafeteria. Frank and his partners enlisted Ana Henton and Gregory Williams of MASS Architecture & Design (Intelligentsia Venice, Corkbar + BREADBAR Century City) to transform the historic space by early 2010. Frank said the downtown space will look similar to Malo’s upstairs expansion in Silver Lake. The menu will also be comparable.
