On Tap at The York

Craft Beer Highland Park

Ryan Ballinger has made The York a craft beer destination in Highland Park.

You won’t find an L.A. BEER BLAST this week, but The York co-owner Ryan Ballinger shared plans for his taps and Cinco de Mayo.

“The chocolate porter is gone and replaced by Alaskan Amber Ale. The Alaskan is a true amber ale–when I see it in the glass under our lights it looks like it is burning a delicious reddish-orange. It has a smooth, malty taste with a bit of sweetness to it, and goes down very easily.”

“Still running the Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye to keep the hopheads at bay.”

“We have been receiving Craftsman Poppyfields Pale Ale for the beer engine as our cask-conditioned beer…These cool, cloudy spring days are just the right time to enjoy one of these elegantly styled, dry-hopped beers.”

“We are adding Hitachino White Ale in bottle as well as Maredsous Blonde. Those are both in large bottle formats.”

“In case anyone didn’t notice, Tuesday is Cinco de Mayo. So for our York fans who we love all the time despite saying, ‘We only have Corona,’ we will be carrying Corona, Pacifico, Dos Equis Lager, Negro Modelo, Tecate, and Carta Blanca from Tuesday until they sell out. So put that in your michelada and drink it!”
