Pasadena getting Hot Dog Town and Med Express

Pasadena is on the verge of becoming Hot Dog Town. Well, that’s if you believe a sign sporting a cartoon hot dog on the side of a shimmering new CBRE building near Pasadena City College.

During my visit, the construction foreman pointed out that a second restaurant will open on the south end of the building: Mediterranean Express Grill. A website revealed that this is a burgeoning local chain of Mediterranean cafes with branches in Montebello and Santa Ana, where every dish is made to order. The foreman predicted that both restaurants should open in about two months.

Personally, I prefer Coney Island hot dogs, Detroit style. They’re the best!
