Joachim Splichal is closing Paperfish today. The Patina Restaurant Group’s contemporary seafood restaurant debuted in November 2007, with a design from architect Clive Wilkinson. Splichal explained the closing: “We had an option in our lease to return the space to our landlord, and with the current economic climate, it did not make sense to continue to foster this new concept.”
Executive Chef Kevin Meehan is expected to transition to another Patina Restaurant Group establishment.

sad, but it shouldn’t be the first of these types of restaurants to close due to this economy.
Kind of a surprise (since they were tabling at the Food Event last week) but also kind of not, this Patina establishment has been floundering ever since their original exec. chef parted ways.
