Here are some quick updates on some restaurant openings that I’ve been tracking. Click on the hyperlinks for more details.
On January 29, it was “looking like February for Le Saint Amour.” Last night, co-owner Florence Herve-Commereuc said, “Opening is planned for the 6th of May.”
Last Thanksgiving, Brendan Collins predicted “late spring” for the opening of Palihouse Vine and his Britalian gastropub – The Hall Bar & Grill. Last Friday, the Palihouse publicist predicted “this summer.”
Erin McKenna has long predicted the opening of Babycakes NYC near The Grove. Last Friday, the Manhattan-based bakery e-mailed to say, “We are still opening in Los Angeles. We have not yet pinned down an exact date just yet, but we will spread the word as soon as we have good news to share.”
In December, Fabial Gil hoped that he and his partners could open a branch of South Point Argentine Grill in Hollywood by February 1. Last Thursday, he predicted an April 10 opening.
In October, Farshid Hakim was hoping to open a Brentwood branch of La Provence Patisserie & Café by Christmas. Last Thursday, he said, “It seems like every time I set a date it never happens so I’m just hoping in the next couple of months.”
In late September, Yealang Smith predicted Soul would open in Hollywood in five months, which would have meant March 2009. Last Wednesday, Smith said that beginning in mid April, TVONE is filiming the reality show The Making of Soul Chowdown,” culminating with “a blow out dinner at Soul.”
In October, Andrew Lujan predicted a 2-4 month range for the opening of Cacao Deli in Eagle Rock. Last Wednesday, he predicted “mid May.”
