STOUT Delivers Burgers and Beer to Hollywood in September

Back in February, Spacecraft designer Kristofer Keith (Kitchen 24, La Grande Orange Café, BoHo) led me on a walk-through of the former Karma Coffeehouse space. At that stage, the burgers and beer concept was supposed to be called Public House. Now partners Charles Lew and Alex Kagianaris from the law firm KAGLEW LLP are calling their restaurant STOUT
Keith crafted walls and rounded booths from refurbished cedar fencing. You’ll find concrete floors and a circular bar lined with reclaimed bricks. The bar will host 30 taps and be backed by copper sheeting. Doors will slide open to reveal open air and patio seating. Keith plans to build beer bottle chandeliers, a play on the wine bottle chandeliers he made for La Buca.
The menu will center on gourmet burgers and globally inspired craft beer. Kagianaris, the executive chef and beer sommelier, developed burger recipes that incorporate ground chicken and quinoa, but the signature item is a “new-style cheeseburger” that involves dry-aged beef cooked rare, dressed with your choice of specialty cheeses, sauces and toppings. Burgers will cost $10-12. STOUT will be open until 4 AM and is likely to debut in September.
