On January 14, Lilly La Bonge opened Sweets for the Soul, a takeout only bakery in Atwater Village. The former TV commercial and music video producer offers four types of brownies, all available by the piece, container or dozen:

Gluten-Free Brownie – a flourless Valrhona chocolate brownie in the shape of a mushroom, with no flour substitute
Cocoa Bliss – a double-chocolate heart with Valrhona cocoa and Valrhona chocolate chips
Brownie Points – bite-size circles made with Valrhona cocoa and Valrhona chocolate chips.

Brownie Bliss – chewy chocolate brownie squares with Valrhona chocolate and toasted pecans

Through President’s Day, La Bonge is also baking limited-edition “Obama” brownies, featuring a Valrhona cocoa base with dark & white chocolate chip hearts.
