Takami Sushi & Robata Restaurant Kickstarts New Lounge Menu
Posted September 10, 2008 at 4:57 pm
The 21st floor lounge at Takami Sushi & Robata Restaurant just introduced a new lounge menu. Monday through Friday from 4:30 – 6:30 PM, for happy hour, all bar dishes cost half-price. The dishes normally cost $6-15. Chef Kenny Yamada, who was the opening chef for Katsu-ya in Encino, is preparing dishes like Japanese fries flavored with seaweed flakes, popcorn shrimp with wasabi sauce and calamari coated with Japanese rice crackers, served with cilantro aioli. There are also two trios: sushi (pepper tuna, ono and albacore) and robata (chicken breast, chicken wings, & negima chicken skewers).
During the weekday happy hour, Takami is “WINE-ding Down” with a selection of wines by the glass for $5. The menu changes monthly. This month, all the selections are from the Mendoza region of Argentina. Think Trapiche Torrontes 2007, Melipal, Malbec Rose 2007 and Alamos Chardonnay 2006.
