Tasca Wine Bar Hosts Semi-Monthly Wine Socials on Tuesday Nights
Posted September 16, 2008 at 1:19 pm
Tasca Wine Bar just launched “Tuesdays at Tasca,” a semi-monthly series of social wine tasting events. It’s social because guests commune at the bar.
Chef Nano Crespo pairs the four flights of wine with tapas, which change according to the wines. On September 9, the tapas were:
- Bunuelo de Bacalao (salt cod croquette with Romesco sauce)
- Escabeche of Vegetables (peppers, onions, artichokes, garlic, eggplant and mushrooms cooked in a light vinaigrette, served cold with EVOO and grilled bread)
- Crostini of Boqueron (toast rounds with house-made aioli, tomato, hard-boiled egg and white anchovies)
The next tasting will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2008, featuring “Flights of French Fancy.” The selections are as follows:
- Domaine Sylvain Gaudron, Vouvray, Loire Valley;
- Michel Guignier, Morgon, Beaujolais
- Domaine Desertaux-Ferrand, Old Vine, Cote de Nuits-Villages, Burgundy
- Saisons de Beaucheme, Gigondas, Rhone Valley
Each event costs $25 per person, plus tax and tip, and begins at 7 PM. Seating is limited to 13 bar guests only, so reservations are highly recommended.
