Taza: A Social Coffee House Tango [CLOSED]

Tea Los Angeles

Just one thing I appreciate about Taza. A Social Coffee House is that owner Sonny Mediana is willing to experiment. Unlike some coffeehouses in L.A., which stick to a coffee and tea script that might allow for little more than sugar and milk(s), he can get pretty far out with beverages, which at one point included a red velvet donut shake. However, for summer, Taza struck just the right balance with a refreshing Tango.

Tango ($4.50) starts with smooth cold brew black tea. Mediana sources fresh TANgerine and manGO puree (tango, get it) from a local woman and shakes the puree with ice until frothy. Paired with a Sugarbloom Bakery pastry, Tango is a terrific warm weather treat.
