Nirvana – the best. This is the place in Manhattan, period. The only places I’ve been to equal it are Di Lorenzo and Pepe’s. But for Manhattan, the discussion begins and ends now with this amazing place. Four choices only, crafted individually by the owner and only the owner (we saw them build the wood fire in the oven since we got there at 4:30 – it opens at 5pm sharp), who stands behind his counter, and they come out a few at a time. We met a man who flew to NYC from Idaho to go there because he said, “It’s the best pizza in the world.” We ordered all four styles. All plates were cleaned. The pizzas are $21 each, so it’s not cheap, and that probably explains why lines are not long (although by the time we left, there was a line).
