“What was that great wine I had last night at Lucques?”
“A friend of mine poured an amazing Malbec at their party last night and I can’t remember what it was. Do you carry it?”
“Do you have the wine with the octopus on the label?”

Wine is community. Wine is family. We remember meals by the marriage of a great pairing between food and wine. Why is it so hard to rememeber what we were drinking?!?!?! Maybe it’s because alcohol affects our memory? It’s 2009 and almost every new cell phone has a camera built in. SNAP A PHOTO! The key to remembering that great bottle is in your pocket. All you have to do is point and shoot. If you’re out at a restaurant and you’re enjoying a great wine from their “by the glass” list, just ask your server or the sommelier to bring the bottle table side so you can snap a photo. They are happy to accomodate such a request. Keep in mind, they want you to be happy and to order many more glasses.

   kaner, I do this when I go out to eat b/c it’s so hard to remember all the specs of a certain wine I’m drinking. but definitely a good point.

   That is a really good reminder. I take pictures of what I eat, but often forget about the wine and regret it. And I have a terrible memory for wine.
