Industry heavyweights Brent Fortune, Kyle Glanville and Tim Wendelboe judged the World Aeropress Championship at the La Marzocco booth on the SCAA showroom floor.

Every week involves a steady stream of food, drinks and people. From April 19 – 22, 2012, most of those people were accomplished coffee professionals at the Specialty Coffee Association of America event at the Oregon Convention Center and surrounding Portland coffeehouses.

Tim Varney, who roasts for Tim Wendelboe in Oslo, pulled shots at SCAA.

2007 World Barista Champion James Hoffmann of London’s Square Mile Coffee pulled shots of their seasonal Red Brick espresso blend at SCAA.

Brewers Cup finalists had every brew method but espresso at their disposal, and Andy Sprenger from Annapolis’ Ceremony Coffee Roasters took the title.

…2012 United States Barista Champion Katie Carguilo hoisted the trophy, winning a trip to Vienna to compete in June’s World Barista Championship, a trip to Costa Rica to visit coffee farms, and plenty of coffee swag.
