Just ate at Wild Olive, the new Italian on Johns Island (from the owners of the Fat Hen). It was an overall good experience–a lively attractive scene, good versions of classic northern Italian dishes, and frendly knowledgable service. Of course we order a bunch of different things to see how they would do. The artichoke app was terrific, the fried calamari pretty good, a caviatelli with sausage pasta dish was outstanding, and our mains–chicken under a brick, veal, tuna, and chicken cacciatori were uniformly fine. Of the two desserts we tried the chocolate and pistachio pudding concoction was the winner. The Wild Olive, already mobbed, will become a regular stop.
