Raise a glass to Unity at LA Beer Week. [LA Beer Week]

L.A. craft beer drinkers, rejoice! L.A. Beer Week returns for the third time on October 10 and culminates on October 23 with a blowout festival at downtown’s Union Station. In between, local bars, restaurants, bottle shops and breweries will continue to populate a L.A. Beer Week with sometimes-educational, always-flavorful beer programming.

Festival tickets are now available and entitle you to unlimited four-ounce tasters from over 70 breweries on October 23 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Spero Foundation, a non-profit whose mission is to “raise awareness and capital for charities that bring hope to people in need,” is once again the non-profit partner for the festival.

Eagle Rock Brewery is once again home to the official LA Beer Week beer, which just like last year, is called Unity. Instead of last year’s California common, this year, ERB co-founder Jeremy Raub got together with Craftsman Brewing founder Mark Jilg and event organizers to brew an autumn saison with tamarind, which is now fermenting in the tanks and will be available at the fest and participating establishments throughout the two-week event.

If restaurants or bars are interested in participating, visit the website for guidelines. Yes, I’m a member of the LA Beer Week committee, and I’m happy to help organizers spread the craft beer gospel.

Find LA Beer Week updates on Facebook or Twitter. The official hashtag is #LABW.
