On July 26, Caroline on Crack founder Caroline Pardilla, who’s celebrating her 5-year blogiversary, recounts her urban hike with H.C. along Colorado Boulevard from Eagle Rock to Arcadia, including white sangria, brown butter lavender cookies, red bean mochi and peacocks, some edible, some not.

On July 28, e*starLA founder Esther Tseng covers the most important event from last week (at least to me) in a post titled The FoodGPS Beverly Blvd Walking Tour: The Recap.

Eater LA

On July 30, Eater LA editor Kat Odell reports that Alex Chu Launches 2nd Dim Sum Truck, Deluxe Dumplings, including “a “cheeseburger” dumpling filled with with ground beef, grilled onions, American cheese and ketchup” and “a “baked potato” dumpling with bacon, chives, cheddar cheese, and mashed potatoes.”

On July 28, Eater LA editor Kat Odell reports about Tinga A New Taqueria (and Coffee Place) on La Brea from “husband and wife team Jerry and Chris Baker of the Food Matters catering company,” featuring house-made tortillas and Baker-roasted coffee beans.

Eating LA

On August 1, Eating LA founder Pat Saperstein reports that Tangier Korean BBQ of Tokyo: Not as strange as it sounds. Apparently anime dolls and Korean BBQ do mix.

L.A. and O.C. Foodventures

On July 29, L.A. and O.C. Foodventures bon vivant H.C. writes about Bites & Sips Along Colorado Urban Hike, including Porto’s potato balls, Sasoun Bakery’s cheese boerek and Four Café’s heirloom tomato gazpacho.

On July 26, H.C. writes about Simply Sublime Chocolate from Providence, including a milk chocolate coffee truffle spiced with Turkish urfa chile and “refreshing white chocolate truffle with a kalamansi lime & mint ganache.”

LA Weekly

On July 28, Squid Ink contributor Noah Galuten rises early to drive to Bell, where La Casita Mexicana Chefs Teach Healthy Cooking Classes for Kids on Univision.

On July 26, Squid Ink welcomes a new contributor, The Golden State co-owner Jason Bernstein, who shares his recommendations for Belgian or Belgian style Tripels.

Savory Hunter

On July 30, Aaron Tell, the Savory Hunter, reports on the White Plate Menu at Wilshire Restaurant, detailing Tuesday’s fried chicken and a proper Bee’s Knees.
