May 24 served as a transition period at Ford’s Filling Station, as chef-owner Benjamin Ford shelved his Sunday roasts in favor of Endless Summer BBQ Sundays. Every Sunday from 4 PM – 10 PM, you’re welcome to choose two meats and two sides for $18. Meats include pulled pork, pork ribs and tenderloin brochette. Most meats receive a Texas style rub, and plates come with dishes of mild or spicy sauce. You’ll find sides like red potato salad and marinated heirloom tomatoes. They’ve got $3 beers, but if you’re looking to drink wine, Ford’s Filling Station suggests a glass of Consilience Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara.

nice homage to the movie — though I don’t imagine surfers to be much the BBQ type. But who knows — and FFS is close enough to the beach.
