In case you’re unfamiliar with the story, Julie Powell was a browbeaten employee for the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation who was working to help downtown heal after 9/11. To find a creative release, she launched a blog on Salon.com, documenting her efforts to prepare all 524 recipes from Julia Child’s “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” within one calendar year. Nora Ephron features Powell’s story in “Julie & Julia” along with the story of Child’s transformation from a frustrated diplomat’s wife to a legendary chef.

Can’t wait to see this movie as Meryl Streep and Julia Child are two of my all time favorite celebrities. Meryl Streep is wonderful in everything she does and her doing Julia Child can only be a masterpiece. My fingers are crossed!

I can’t wait to see it and as noted popcorn will not do. I wonder if we should all get together and bring a melange of treats for this special movie.

I think if I’d won I’d HAVE to cook something for dinner that night from a Julia Child recipe.

Been looking forward to this film for a while. I’m already subscribed! 🙂
I agree with CDX, something a bit more decadent than rasinettes seems appropriate for this show!

I hope the theater serves really good refreshments (or doesn’t mind me bringing my own.) Popcorn will just not do when watching Julia Child!
