Cabo Taco Baja Grill will be hosting a Hangar 24 dinner tonight from 6pm to 10pm with the following menu for $20: Grilled Fish Taco topped with roasted pasilla, avocado relish paired with Helles Lager; Brie Quesadilla with green apple and sautéed onions paired with 3rd Anniversary Blond Tart; Braised Pork Chile Verde Taco topped with red cabbage slaw paired with Columbus IPA; and Vanilla Cup Cake topped with maple butter cream and candied bacon sprinkles paired with Chocolate Porter.

Germany invades City Tavern’s Table Taps from September 16th thru October 2nd. For the first time a beer made outside of California will grace a handle at City Tavern. During the two week period of Oktoberfest City Tavern will be showcasing traditional Marzen beers from Munich on our Table Tap tables only! People that reserve a table tap table will be able to drink these classic German Marzen beers and compare them to some of the best Marzen beers that California has to offer. The final day of Oktoberfest is normally the biggest day of celebration during the festival, so on October 2nd we will be giving away a commemorative City Tavern growler bottle to all the guests that sit down at our Table Taps. This next week on September 22nd we also have our first pint night with Sierra Nevada. Right now Sierra Nevada has told us that they will be bringing 5 different styles. Of these there should be one from their Ovila project as well as one or two that normally are only available in their tasting room at the brewery. With Sierra Nevada’s recent focus on craft beer, some really interesting styles have been produced by the brewery. Stop on in to try some really unique beers and get your takeaway Sierra Nevada/City Tavern glass.

Since last Thursday, Phil McGovern’s iconic Santa Monica bar has added Dogfish Head Palo Santo Marron, Russian River Blind Pig and Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous with Simcoe hops.
On tap beer wise are Manifesto Wit, Revolution XPA and the new Dortmunder Export. On the Food truck front, Friday brings Grilled Cheese Truck and the Grill ‘em All Truck rolls in on Saturday night.

Vendome Toluca Lake’s weekly Beer Tasting is from 2-5 pm on Saturday and Sunday. This week’s theme is Best in Style. “For this weekend’s tasting I decided to pick a bunch of highly rated offerings encompassing more than 10 different beer styles. The purpose of this is two-fold. First, I chose these beers so the tasting would be delicious, but most importantly I chose ‘style benchmarks’ so that if you have never tasted a particular style before, you will have a good reference point.
