New draught options at Gabriel Gordon’s noted Seal Beach beer bar include Bear Republic Nor Cal, Lost Abbey Devotion, Eel River Amber, Stone Vertical Epic 09-09-09, Valley Brew Luna Blanca, Bear Republic Double Rocket and Scrimshaw Pilsner. Track changes to Gordon’s 24-tap blackboard menu via HOP CAM.

BLUE PALMS BREWHOUSE

Since last Thursday, Blue Palms proprietor Brian Lenzo added kegs of St. Bernardus Tripel, an 8% ABV Belgian Tripel; Ballast Point Fathom Lager, a 6.8% ABV American double Imperial Pilsner; Port Brewing Shark Attack, a 9% ABV red ale, BrewDog Paradox, a 10% ABV American double Imperial Stout; Sac Independence IPA, a 9.5% ABV double IPA; and Ballast Point Sculpin, a 7% ABV American IPA. He also announced Hollywood BrewFest, featuring 30+ Regional Breweries, 20+ Buzzworthy Bands and Tasty Food. The event takes place on October 10 at Music Box @ The Fonda and costs $45 per person.

On cask: Ruination with Amarillo with Columbus and Pale Ale with Coriander.

Essex Public House is adding two beer floats to the menu this weekend: a “Blueberry Bomber” with Seadog Wild Blueberry and Chocolate Ice Cream and “Espresso Bi-ru,” Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout with Vanilla Ice Cream and Crushed Oreo Cookies.

The Golden State co-owner Jason Bernstein just tapped Firestone Walker Double Jack, a double IPA with an “oak quality” and lingering sweetness. He also scored bottles of Lost Abbey Devotion and both La Roja and Luciernaga (“The Firefly”) from Jolly Pumpkin.

“Stone Vertical Epic is tapped! It’s a Belgian style Imperial Porter. The beer is dark and rich with intense roasted malt flavors of chocolate and coffee. It is extra smooth and a true delight to drink. We also have the Ballast Point Calico Amber ready to tap. It’s a true amber ale with great balance and wonderful taste. A great beer from one of San Diego’s best microbreweries.”

    We still haven’t tried 38 Degrees-what do you think about it? beer? food?

    38 Degrees has one of the better beer lists in the San Gabriel Valley. The food was pretty good, not great. I tried the sliders and pulled pork quesadilla.
