On June 27, Gev Kazanchyan brings his latest act of charity to Tony’s Darts Away, where proceeds from Dionicess VI will benefit the Real Medicine Foundation (RMF), an organization that provides humanitarian support to people living in disaster, post-war and poverty stricken areas. Dionicess VI pairs five beers from Firestone Walker with sausage and gourmet fries from Tony’s Darts Away at Tony Yanow’s recently retooled Burbank beer bar. The event costs $35 per person, all inclusive, and you must pre-register to attend. Tickets go on sale tonight at midnight. New draught options at Gabriel Gordon’s noted Seal Beach beer bar include Pork Brewing Midnight Sessions, Alaskan Summer Ale, Ballast Point Sculpin IPA, Bootlegger’s Prohibition Mild, Craftsman Cabernale, Mad River Wheat Wine and Marin White Knuckle. Track changes to Gordon’s 24-tap blackboard menu via HOP CAM. Mark your calendars, since Beachwood BBQ is hosting an Italian Beer Fest from May 6-9.

According to Boneyard Bistro bar manager Rory Snipes, “We just started getting beer from Strand Brewing this week, so their 24th St. Pale should be on tap in the next couple of days. We also got some limited release Glazen Toren Saison Speciaal Eindejaar in bottles.”

According to The Golden State co-owner Jason Bernstein, “We got us some new beers on: Deschutes Hop Henge, Jubel 2010 (It’s so good), Avery Maharaja, Dogfish Aprihop, Lost Abbey Carnevale, Sierra Nevada Summerfest, Firestone Union Jack, New Belgium La Folie and New Belgium Fall Wild.” Earlier today, The Golden State received a keg of Russian River Consecration, to which Bernstein said, “We have officially graduated to the big leagues!”

According to Ladyface rep Robyn Britton, “No Guts, No Glory”, said Brewer Dave as he infused the Ladyface Blind Ambition Amber with a couple of dollops of chili paste. Thus was born the Cask of the Week, our spicy sweet stab at the sublime.

All 21 taps are flowing with Monk’s Café back along with a new batch of Ladyface’s La Blanche Belgian Wit. Chef Ray has been making sausage and simmering it in our La Blonde ale. Grilled over fruitwood, his shrimp sausage with ginger and lamb sausage with garlic and rosemary are just two you might find on our sausage plate. Glorious!”

LIBRARY ALEHOUSE

According to sustainability manager Tom Kelley, “New on draft is Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary stout, and Bigfoot 2010, Maharaja IIIPA from Avery, Alesmith IPA, and we should see another keg of Strand 24th Street Pale. Double Dread Red is still running, as is the Acai Wheat from Eel River.

In the bottle we have three new editions of the Mikkeller Single hop: Chinook, Amarillo, and Cascade.

From May 11-25, Library Alehouse is hosting their Belgian Beer Festival, featuring beers like Blanche de Bruxelles, Malhuer 12, Duchess de Bourgogne, Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor, Goose Island Matilda, Russian River Consecration and Allagash Four. Guests can purchase a logo Chimay glass for $15 and refill it with one of the 8 rotating Belgian handles for only $5 during the entire two weeks of the festival.

The Kickoff Event is May 11, where Christina Roberts from Duvel-Moortgat USA will highlight Houblon Chouffe Belgian IPA, Ommegang Hennepin, and Maredsous 8 on draft as well as some specialties such as the Blond d’Ardenne, and Duvel in bottle. Ga’Chouffe, Library Alehouses very own Chouffe will be behind the bar.

Library Alehouse is featuring a Belgian Beer Dinner on May 18 at 6 PM, hosted by Wine Warehouse import specialist Larry James. The $50 dinner consists includes 5 courses with beer pairings, a logo Chimay glass and “other goodies.”

Lucky Baldwin’s eastern outpost continues their Barleywine Festival through May 2. $13 gets you a beer and souvenir glass. Add a T-shirt for a total of $22. Refills are $1 or $2 off depending on the price of the beer. They also have a trio of new beers: Straffe Hendrik Tripel, North Coast Old Rasputin and Rogue Imperial Red.

After a few months of lying fallow, we’re dusting off the beer engine and getting some cask ales going. Tomorrow (Friday) @ 6pm, we’ll be tapping a firkin of Stone IPA w/Simcoe & Amarillo.

Coming soon: Lost Abbey Carnevale, Anchor Bock, Dogfish Chicory Stout and Firestone Velvet Merkin.”

According to Simmzy’s manager Micah Schiesel, “New for this week we got Lagunitas Wilco Tango Foxtrot (WTF) an imperial brown. Also a killer beer from Drake’s Brewery called the Deggonnizer, a massive double IPA. On the lighter side of things we are pouring Ommegang’s Hennipen a belgian style farmhouse ale. An lastly we are all slowly slipping on Stone’s seasonal Russian Imperial Stout.”
