In early May, Mediterranean Garden Grill owner Joey Kouchakian opened an Old Town Monrovia restaurant called Mediterranean Spinners.

The fast-casual café occupies the former home of Sir Walter Nuts and Candy and specializes in “vertically broiled” meat. Chicken Pita Wrap ($4.99) includes marinated and vertically broiled chicken breast with romaine lettuce, garlic paste, pickles, rolled in pita bread. Tri-Tip Pita Wrap ($4.99) features marinated and vertically broiled tri-tip beef with grilled tomatoes, tahini sauce, seasoned onions, pickles, rolled in pita bread. For an extra dollar, create a combo with 4 oz. hummus and pickles.
