Bartender Damian Gray Windsor just e-mailed with two cocktail related updates. Beginning Monday February 23, Bar Lubitsch will host a weekly “Mod” themed party. According to the self-described aquarius, bartender, mixologist and dolphin trainer, “Jared has assembled his favorite DJ’s to play all 1960’s Underground Soul and Rock and Roll. This genre of music is huge in the U.K., but overlooked in the States and he thinks Angelenos are going to love it.” Windsor plans to “supply fancy libations inspired by the Mod movement and cocktail era of the late ’50s through the ’60s including fizzes, rickeys and bingo bango’s? Yes bingo bango’s. Each week will feature a new cocktail menu in addition to Bar Lubitsch’s signature cocktails.”
As previously reported on Food GPS, Windsor will be the main bartender at the new bar that will occupy the Coronet Pub. He predicts an “April-Mayish” opening. Windsor said “Mod” Mondays will be a good chance to preview what he has planned for the Coronet.
