On June 21, New Orleans native Erin Earls and friend Jillian DeFrehn (who worked together as Paramount publicists) opened Nola Ice, specializing in New Orleans style shaved ice. The pink and white shop occupies a former spa and is designed to look like a French Quarter café. Flavors of “the hottest ice in town” include black cherry, Mardi Gras King cake and Fuzzy Navel (non-alcoholic). They imported their shaved ice machine from the Big Easy.
